<<DP World has revealed its new container tracking solution for supply chain managers after recently releasing a teaser.

Port Technology took a guess at what it could be in the Friday Focus and correctly predicted that DP World's solution would be an enhancement to the current beta version of ‘Where’s My Container?’.

The company claims that the technology is “the most advanced container tracking solution developed by a port terminal operator”.

After feedback from a pilot release, DP World has reported that ‘Where’s My Container?’ will allow users to have “greater visibility of their cargo" and should improve speed-to-shelf opportunities such through replenishment forecasts and better inventory allocation.

DP World stated: “The container tracking solution represents a major step forward for customers by reducing administration and providing better data quality for their planning and logistics of getting products onto shelves.

It added that the solution will be rolled out "in a phased manner" and initially be made available across DP World’s UK terminals.
